Transit Team, Inc.Compensation & ScheduleStarting Pay: $28.00 per hour$3,000 Hiring BonusMonday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PMConsistent eight-hour schedule with no midday break deductedYear-round work, including winter, spring, and summer school breaksEssential Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction to CDL applicants and existing drivers.Prepare trainees for CDL knowledge, pre-trip inspection, basic vehicle control, and road skills examinations.Teach and reinforce safe school bus operation, defensive driving, pre-trip inspections, student transportation procedures, and company safety expectations.Evaluate trainee performance and provide clear, constructive coaching and feedback.Track trainee progress and communicate concerns or additional training needs to management.Maintain accurate and organized training records, documentation, and driver training files.Assist with refresher, remedial, and safety training for existing drivers.Maintain an organized training schedule and ensure required documentation is completed accurately and on time.Maintain a professional, positive, and supportive learning environment.Serve as a positive example of safe driving, professionalism, attendance, and customer service.Cover school bus routes, field trips, and other driving assignments when training demand is low.Perform other training and transportation-related duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsValid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.Must have held a Class B CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements for a minimum of two years.Strong knowledge of safe commercial and school bus driving practices.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to maintain accurate records, files, and training documentation.Ability to communicate instructions clearly and effectively.Ability to coach individuals with varying levels of driving experience and learning styles.Professional, dependable, patient, and safety-focused.Willing and able to operate school buses and cover routes or field trips when needed.Must meet all applicable DOT, state, company, and school bus driver qualification requirements.Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience training, mentoring, or coaching commercial drivers.Experience providing behind-the-wheel CDL instruction.Knowledge of Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) requirements and school bus driver training requirements.Experience maintaining driver qualification or training records.Why Join Transit Team as a CDL Trainer?Competitive Pay & Hiring BonusStart at $28.00 per hour and receive a $3,000 hiring bonus.Stable ScheduleEnjoy a consistent 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, Monday through Friday schedule without a midday break deduction.Year-Round EmploymentContinue working throughout the year, including winter break, spring break, and summer break.Make an ImpactHelp new drivers develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to safely transport students.Variety in Your WorkdayCombine classroom instruction, behind-the-wheel training, coaching, administrative responsibilities, and driving assignments.The CDL Trainer plays a critical role in building a strong culture of safety and developing professional drivers who are prepared to provide safe, reliable transportation for the students and communities we serve.Beacon Mobility is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
