Description Employee Type: Full-time Base Pay: $20.00/hour non‑negotiable, mileage reimbursement and $20/pay period auto allowance Location: Montgomery County, Maryland Abilities Network is a multiple‑year winner of the Baltimore Sun's Top Workplace Award and seeks responsible, compassionate, and reliable Direct Support Professionals to serve individuals with neurodiversity across Montgomery County. Job Overview As a Direct Support Professional you will support individuals in working toward personal independence by facilitating the learning of new skills, transporting them to community activities and events, and providing on‑the‑job coaching to enhance independence. Responsibilities Assist individuals in working toward personal independence by supporting skill development and building a system of natural supports. Transport individuals to community activities and events each day using your personal vehicle, maintaining required car insurance and valid driver’s license. Deliver customized services tailored to each individual’s preferences and personal goals. Provide on‑the‑job coaching to assist individuals in becoming independent on the job. Encourage the development of interpersonal skills. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education is a plus. Valid driver’s license and a positive driving record; must have daily access to a reliable personal vehicle. Vehicle must be able to safely perform assigned duties, including maintaining safe temperature conditions during high‑heat conditions. Must carry minimum $50,000 automobile liability insurance. Excellent time‑management skills. Strong ability to think creatively and develop solid internal and external relationships with community resources.
