The Manager of Faculty Development oversees the daily operations of Stanbridge University's Center for Innovation in Teaching & Learning (CITL) and is responsible for planning, implementing, and continuously improving faculty development programs that advance instructional excellence, teaching innovation, and student success.
Working in partnership with the Chief Academic Officer, Academic Deans, Program Directors, and other academic leaders, the Manager leads faculty onboarding, instructional coaching, professional development, and teaching support across all instructional modalities. This position serves as the University's primary resource for faculty development, promoting evidence-based teaching practices grounded in adult learning theory (andragogy) while supporting institutional priorities and accreditation requirements.
The Manager also champions the thoughtful, ethical, and effective integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging educational technologies to enhance teaching, learning, faculty productivity, and student success.
Key ResponsibilitiesFaculty Development Operations- Develop and implement annual faculty development plans aligned with Academic Affairs priorities, accreditation requirements, and student success initiatives.
- Manage the daily operations of the Center for Innovation in Teaching & Learning (CITL).
- Coordinate faculty development programs, workshops, learning communities, and special initiatives across the University.
- Collaborate with Academic Affairs leadership to implement faculty development priorities and support instructional excellence.
- Monitor program effectiveness and recommend operational improvements that enhance faculty success and teaching quality.
- Coordinate and manage the University's comprehensive onboarding program for new faculty.
- Develop and maintain onboarding materials, faculty resources, and instructional guides.
- Facilitate onboarding sessions for faculty teaching in on-campus, hybrid, online, laboratory, simulation, and clinical learning environments.
- Provide training on instructional technologies, University teaching expectations, classroom management, assessment practices, and student engagement strategies.
Plan, coordinate, facilitate, and evaluate faculty development opportunities, including workshops, certificate programs, faculty learning communities, teaching institutes, and instructional resources.

- Provide individualized instructional coaching and mentoring to faculty.
- Support faculty in improving classroom effectiveness, student engagement, and instructional delivery.
- Assist faculty with instructional planning, course improvement, assessment design, and teaching best practices.
- Recommend professional development opportunities based on instructional needs and performance feedback.
- Serve as a trusted resource for instructional questions and classroom support.
- Lead faculty development initiatives focused on the practical, ethical, and effective use of artificial intelligence in higher education.
- Support faculty in integrating AI into teaching, assessment, course design, student feedback, and learner engagement while promoting academic integrity and responsible AI practices.
- Coordinate training related to the University's Learning Management System (LMS) and instructional technology platforms.
- Evaluate emerging AI and educational technologies and recommend appropriate implementation in collaboration with Academic Affairs leadership and Information Technology.
- Promote innovation by identifying instructional technologies that improve teaching effectiveness and student learning outcomes.
- Monitor participation and completion of faculty development activities.
- Evaluate program effectiveness using faculty feedback, course evaluations, student success metrics, and instructional assessment data.
- Prepare regular reports and recommendations for Academic Affairs leadership.
- Maintain faculty development records and documentation supporting institutional and programmatic accreditation.
- Identify opportunities to improve faculty development programming, instructional support services, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate faculty development activities that support institutional and programmatic accreditation requirements.
- Collaborate with Academic Affairs, Program Directors, Academic Deans, Information Technology, and campus leadership to support instructional excellence initiatives.
- Manage CITL programming, scheduling, faculty communications, educational resources, and instructional materials.
- Assist with special projects that advance faculty success, teaching effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
- Master's degree required; Doctorate preferred in Education, Higher Education, Instructional Design, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience in higher education.
- Demonstrated experience managing faculty development programs, instructional coaching, professional development, educational training, or instructional support services.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based teaching practices and adult learning theory (andragogy) .
- Experience with curriculum development, instructional design, assessment strategies, and learning outcomes alignment.
- Experience facilitating workshops, presentations, and professional learning experiences.
- Excellent organizational, communication, facilitation, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and academic leadership across multiple disciplines.
- Experience with distance education and online teaching standards (e.g., Regular and Substantive Interaction, Quality Matters).
- Experience supporting faculty in the adoption of artificial intelligence and emerging educational technologies.
- Experience with instructional design principles and course development.
- Familiarity with accreditation and regulatory expectations in higher education.
- Experience managing faculty development programs, Centers for Teaching & Learning, or instructional support services.
- Experience using Learning Management Systems and educational technology platforms.
$90,000–$110,000 annually. Compensation is based on education, experience, and internal equity.
