Job Details Job Location: CFG Walnut Creek - Walnut Creek, CA 94598 Position Type: Part Time Salary Range: $20.00 - $20.00 Hourly Job Shift: Any Job Category: Restaurant - Food Service Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt Job Summary Responsible for enacting cash and credit card transactions for menu items purchased by guests throughout the daily restaurant serving hours. Responsibilities Greet guests, receive food orders, repeat food orders. Charge the appropriate price for each menu item ordered by guests. Receive the correct amount tendered by guests and provide the correct change for each transaction. Enact gift cards requested by guests. Be very familiar with and up to date with California Fish Grill Restaurant’s menu and prices. Interact with guests in a friendly, fast manner. Make corrections to guest orders in a fast and efficient manner. Determine counterfeit money and respond to situations involving counterfeit money. Assure age requirements are verified prior to serving alcoholic beverages. Treat all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Report to work in a neat and clean uniform. Well-groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential. Keep work area neat and clean at all times. Cleans and maintains equipment used. Complete requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned. General Responsibilities Supports the Mission, Values and Vision of California Fish Grill and the facility. Supports, cooperates with, and implements specific procedures and programs for safety, including precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security; report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs. Maintain confidentiality of all data, including guest credit card information. Ensure compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior. Supports and participates in common teamwork: cooperates and works together with all co-workers; plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment. Uses tactful, appropriate communication in sensitive and emotional situations. Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or guests regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns. Perform physical work, including standing, reaching, bending, lifting, kneeling, stooping, climbing, pushing, pulling items weighing up to 50 lbs. Manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills. Read and write proficiently. Follow written and oral instructions and procedures as directed by the Restaurant Manager. Follow company policies and procedures related to job safety, including safety rules and regulations. Legal age to serve alcohol. Prior experience related to cashier or food service positions. Valid ServSafe or other approved Food Handler Certification. High level of integrity and honesty. Working Conditions Restaurant environment. When warranted, may be required to work beyond normal working hours as needed to meet guest needs or restaurant requirements. Frequent standing, reaching with hands and arms, stooping and kneeling. Ability to perform multiple tasks.
