HVAC Technician Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement of HVAC equipment, including diagnostics, pipefitting, brazing, and start-up procedures on commercial systems. Provision of a work van, laptop, mobile devices, and other necessary tools. What you will do Perform maintenance of all HVAC and applied equipment and on-site start-up procedures. Repair and replace defective equipment, components, or wiring; perform diagnostics, pipefitting, and brazing. Conduct warranty service applications by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality. Verify functionality of new equipment and educate customers on proper use, maintenance schedules, and operation manuals. Problem-solve issues using reasoning and logic. Communicate with individuals who installed the system and the owner's representatives. Program new control systems using touchscreens and computers. Assist owners in demonstrating proper system setup. Document actions taken on the jobsite for project reports. Direct discussions with building owners regarding ongoing maintenance and service. Prepare wiring diagrams. Wear personal protective equipment and complete hazard assessments in accordance with safety policies and OSHA guidelines. Maintain professionalism in appearance, verbal, and written communication and provide status reports to customers. Communicate potential sales opportunities to the sales staff through the quote process. Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, product quality reports (PQR), and related documents. Maintain basic data entry, email, internet, and word-processing skills; download programs into equipment and micro-controllers; analyze trend data to ensure optimal performance. Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and a clean work area are always upheld. Qualifications Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning. 5+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility; or 7+ years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. State license or certifications as required by the market. EPA-approved Universal Technician Certification required, as necessary.
