Description: Hiring process includes profile review and interview with unit management. Candidates must be in-state for the week of orientation. Position involves inpatient pharmacy responsibilities. The role is based in central pharmacy, providing medication checking and order verification for patients across various areas. Common duties include order verification and addressing medication information questions. Pharmacy environment includes checking medication fulfillment such as Pyxis batches and IV batches. Work will be performed alongside 1-3 pharmacy technicians. Shifts primarily take place during the day, with no night shifts required. Weekend requirements may include every third to every other Saturday and Sunday. Potential holiday requirements may include Labor Day. There is no on-call requirement for this position. The medication dispensing system utilized includes Epic, Pyxis, and Carousel. Dress code is business casual or facility scrubs when necessary. Additional unit orientation lasts approximately one week. Pharmacists will always be working with at least one other pharmacist. No medication reconciliation is required for this position. Cancellation policies allow the hospital to cancel a limited number of shifts during the assignment. The charting system used is Epic. BSN requirement is not necessary for this role. The position is within an inpatient acute care setting.
