Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (ER/ED Float)

Location

Centennial, CO (Zone covers Denver metro area within a 60-mile radius, including Lakewood, Westminster, and Longmont, CO)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in emergency department settings across multiple facilities within an assigned geographic zone, floating as directed by scheduling leadership
• Assess, triage, and manage a diverse patient population including presentations such as abdominal pain, stroke, NSTEMI, trauma, pneumonia, hypertension, and diabetes-related conditions
• Administer and monitor standard emergency department medications and drips, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen as needed
• Independently read and interpret telemetry strips; perform and document Point of Care lab testing
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4–5 based on acuity, collaborating with charge nurses, techs, and respiratory therapy available 24/7
• Adhere to every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday scheduling requirements; remain flexible to Just-In-Time (JIT) shift assignments with 1–2 hours notice

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (or eligibility) in the state of Colorado
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications
• Ability and willingness to float throughout the full 60-mile zone with no single home base facility
• Must be present in-state for the full week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely
• Valid driver's license required; housing must be arranged to support floating across the full zone

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in trauma, STEMI-receiving, or stroke center environments
• Comfort with flexible, dynamic scheduling including Just-In-Time shift assignments
• Prior travel nursing experience in a multi-facility or float pool capacity
