Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use. Assist dentists chairside during various procedures, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics. Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans accurately while adhering to radiation safety protocols. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and explain dental procedures using appropriate dental terminology. Perform dental instrument processing and sterilization procedures following infection prevention management standards. Monitor vital signs when necessary and assist in medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care. Experience Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting duties. Strong knowledge of dental equipment, medical imaging techniques, and infection control protocols. Hands-on experience with dental x-ray procedures, chairside assisting, and four-handed dentistry techniques. Proficiency in using patient management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for scheduling, billing, and record keeping. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and the ability to handle pediatric patients with care and professionalism. Understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry and oral health conditions. Ability to follow clinical confidentiality policies rigorously while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care.
