About the Role
Eastern Airlines is seeking an experienced Boeing 777 Captain to command commercial flights from multiple bases across the U.S. As Captain, you will hold final authority for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of each flight, leading a professional crew while coordinating with Operations and Maintenance to deliver a world-class passenger and cargo experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Exercise final authority for the safe conduct of each flight, including command of flight crew, passengers, and cargo.
- Direct, brief, and mentor the First Officer and all assigned crew; apply effective Crew Resource Management (CRM).
- Verify aircraft airworthiness, required documents/manuals, equipment, fuel, provisions, weight-and-balance forms, passenger briefings, and cargo security.
- Review and assess flight plans, weather, terrain, aircraft performance, regulations, airport facilities, and navigation aids.
- Make operational decisions to start, delay, cancel, divert, or otherwise modify a flight as conditions require.
- Coordinate with the System Operations Control (SOC) and the Chief Pilot on operational decisions and irregularities.
- Report deviations, incidents, suspected FAA violations, maintenance discrepancies, and medical concerns promptly.
- Ensure required VOR and equipment checks are completed and documented.
- Maintain accurate flight and duty records; confirm crew rest and readiness in compliance with regulations.
- Uphold cabin and flight deck standards; ensure the aircraft is properly prepared for each leg.
- Select appropriate altitudes and profiles for safe, efficient operations.
- Delegate tasks appropriately without delegating ultimate responsibility.
What You Bring
- Extensive turbine time with proven wide-body PIC experience (preferably on the B767 or B777).
- Deep knowledge of FAA regulations, company procedures, and Part 121 operations.
- Calm, decisive judgment and operational leadership in demanding environments.
- Exceptional communication, CRM proficiency, and a safety-first mindset.
- Ability to multitask, perform under pressure, travel extensively, and bid schedules by seniority.
Minimum Flight Experience
- Total time: 7,000+ hours (operating-seat time in turboprop and/or turbojet aircraft)
- PIC time: 2,000+ hours on multi-crew, multi-engine commercial aircraft
- Multi-engine time: 2,000+ hours
- Part 121 time: 1,000+ hours and meets applicable 14 CFR 121.436 requirements
Certifications, Compliance & Eligibility
- Valid FAA ATP (unrestricted or restricted, as applicable) and Class One Medical.
- Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- English proficiency at or above ICAO Level 4.
- Valid U.S. driver's license.
- Passport permitting worldwide travel (valid at least six months).
- Authorized and eligible to work in the United States.
- Ability to pass DOT drug and alcohol testing and a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC).
