This is a very exciting opportunity to start on a new block development change from the beginning of the program!You will ensure the effective implementation of Quality and Mission Assurance requirements throughout the design & development phase. You will interface with various Raytheon Organizations including Engineering and our internal Program Quality Leadership Teams. You must be able to execute and drive design best practices and drive risk mitigation prior to Production.Responsibilities include blending managerial expertise with broad technical knowledge, providing Quality application, guidance and subject matter expertise as needed to support program objectives and organizational goals.This is an “onsite” role in Tucson, AZ. What You Will Do:Support the execution for the AMRAAM Development Program, ensuring alignment with Q&MA policies, contractual requirements, and product performance requirements.Partner closely with Program Management to identify risks, implement mitigation plans, and ensure quality performance supports cost, schedule, and technical objectives.Implement Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) in accordance with AS9145 and New Product Introduction (NPI) to establish Product MaturityUse technical expertise to review Engineering work products (e.g., technical analysis, technical data packages) to identify and eliminate defects.Participate in technical peer reviews of initial design releases, change incorporation, prototype development, and test plansEvaluate technical requirements and manufacturing trade-offs to assess potential risks or opportunities and collaborate with Engineering on mitigation action plansLead root cause initiatives and implement corrective and preventative actions.Support new pursuits through proposal development.Qualifications You Must Have:A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experienceEngineering experience in the defense and/or aerospace industry.Experience with reviewing and implementing technical changesExperience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)Working experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.Ability to obtain a Final Secret US Government issued security clearance is required prior to start.Qualifications We Prefer:STEM degreeExperienced in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)/AS9145Familiarity with Risk & Opportunity analysis and Management Boards (ROMB)Experience supporting manufacturing, audits, and hardware sell-off activitiesRelevant Certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, CORE, Shainin Red X, GD&T, ASQ)Basis of Estimate (BOE) or equivalent trainingExperience organizing and executing meetings with cross-functional partnersPrevious experience with AMRAAM hardware and suppliersExperience with statistical evaluation toolsDemonstrated stakeholder management skills with effective communication for engaging Senior leadershipWhat We OfferOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
