Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Oncology Clinic position requiring ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification and a Monday–Friday day shift schedule.

• Outpatient Medical Oncology Clinic setting
• Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00am–4:30pm, no weekends
• 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a compact state currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card, and OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
• ADN or ASN with a minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, or BSN
• 2 or more years of oncology experience preferred
• Date of birth (MM/DD) and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Supports Medical Oncologists with patient preparation, clinic visits, order management, care coordination, and patient/family education
• Performs medication reconciliation, review of systems (ROS), and gathers pertinent patient history prior to each visit
• Follows up on ordered tests, treatments, and referrals and assists with treatment and medication orders
• Assists with pre-authorizations, pre-certifications, insurance issues, FMLA/disability documentation, and specialty medications
• Participates in clinical trial support including eligibility assessment and patient education
• Maintains accurate clinical documentation including observations, medications, pain and distress assessments, and critical lab values
