Job Details Specialty: CVICU Registered Nurse / Cardiovascular ICU RN Employment Type: Travel RN Contract Contract Duration: 13 weeks Start Date: 10/5/2026 Shift: Night shift, 3x12 hours Shift Duration: 12 hours Shifts Per Week: 3 Weekly Hours: 36 Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,290 - $2,410 Patient Ratio: 1:2 Orientation: 24 hours Float: May be required to MSICU as needed Call: 24-36 hours on a rotating schedule Weekends: Every third weekend required Holidays: As scheduled Location: Towson, Maryland, near Baltimore Job Requirements Minimum of 2 years of CVICU, ICU, or comparable critical care experience Direct experience caring for immediate post-op open heart patients required Active Maryland RN license or compact RN license at time of submission Current BLS, ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required Epic charting experience required Ability to manage complex cardiac patients and hemodynamically unstable patients Comfortable floating within scope and supporting unit scheduling needs Strong clinical background with CVICU equipment and high-acuity cardiac interventions Responsibilities Provide expert critical care nursing for postoperative cardiac surgery patients and ICU bounce-backs Monitor and manage patients recovering from CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, and other advanced cardiac procedures Care for patients requiring inotropic support, vasoactive drips, ECMO, CRRT, IABP, and Impella support Assess and respond to hemodynamic instability, coagulopathy, respiratory failure, and multisystem complications Manage arterial lines, central lines, Swan Ganz monitoring, pacing wires, IV drips, and ventilated patients Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, IV teams, pharmacy, and rapid response resources to support excellent outcomes Document accurately in Epic and maintain high standards of safety, infection prevention, and patient-centered care Location Highlights Located in Towson, Maryland, this travel nursing assignment offers the chance to work just outside Baltimore in a well-connected community with suburban comfort, local dining, and easy access to a major metro area.
