Production Operator

The Production Operator monitors and supports automated machinery that manufactures boxes for oil and tissue paper products. This role focuses on keeping production lines running smoothly by clearing jams, handling materials, and stacking finished boxes safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production machines that manufacture boxes for oil and tissue paper products to ensure continuous and efficient operation.
• Observe equipment performance and promptly respond to any issues, stoppages, or irregularities in the production process.
• Remove paper and other materials from machines when they become jammed, following safety procedures to prevent equipment damage and personal injury.
• Hand stack finished boxes onto load formers in an organized and stable manner to support downstream processes and shipping.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area around the machines to support safe and efficient operations.
• Follow all manufacturing and safety guidelines, including proper use of equipment and adherence to facility rules.
• Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors about machine status, jams, and any production concerns.
• Support general production and manufacturing tasks as needed to meet daily output and quality expectations.

Essential Skills

• Ability to work in a manufacturing and production environment.
• Willingness to work in a warm environment and remain productive in heat, with access to spot cooling areas.
• Comfort with entry-level production and manufacturing tasks, including monitoring machines and handling materials.
• Attention to detail when observing machine operations and identifying jams or issues.
• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks such as hand stacking boxes and clearing paper from machines.
• Reliability in following schedules and assigned shifts within a rotating or fixed shift structure.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Entry-level candidates with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production setting is helpful but not required.
• Ability to follow safety instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and share updates on machine performance.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility that produces boxes for oil and tissue paper products. The environment includes active production lines and machinery, with spot cooling areas available to help manage heat. The position follows one of three shifts: 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., or 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. You will work on or near production equipment, handle materials, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richland, MS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.27 - $18.27/hr.
