System Engineer - Database and Virtualization

TRUE Community Credit Union is a people-first financial institution committed to serving our members, our team, and our community. As a System Engineer - Database & Virtualization, you'll design, support, and optimize enterprise infrastructure across database, cloud, virtualization, and hybrid technology environments. This role plays a key part in maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available systems that support our members, employees, and business operations.

What You'll Do

• Design, manage, and optimize enterprise database environments, including performance tuning, backup and recovery, and data integrity practices.
• Design, implement, and support virtualization and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions.
• Support cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments across on-premises and cloud platforms.
• Partner with infrastructure, security, application, and data teams to support business objectives.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and support disaster recovery and resiliency efforts.
• Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, cloud administration, database administration, or related technology roles
• Strong hands-on experience with both relational and non-relational databases ( SQL Server, Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, or similar enterprise database platforms).
• Experience managing cloud infrastructure in AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience supporting VDI solutions such as Azure Virtual Desktop, VMware Horizon, or similar technologies.
• Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure architecture and integrating on-premises and cloud-based technologies.
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Virtual Desktop, and enterprise infrastructure security best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within a financial institution or other regulated environment.
• PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
• Experience with enterprise storage, monitoring, and observability tools.
• Relevant Microsoft, Azure, or VMware certifications.
