Lead Hand Carpenter (Petersburg)

Summary We’re seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Carpenter to join our team, focusing on high-end residential decking and outdoor structures. The ideal candidate has strong skills in framing and finishing, a sharp eye for detail, and a commitment to craftsmanship. While the primary focus is residential, occasional commercial projects and lead hand duties may be involved. Responsibilities Assist in the demolition and construction of decks, fences, pergolas, pool houses, gazebos, and other outdoor structures Perform a variety of hands‑on tasks, including physical labour and material handling Support the foreman with daily construction activities and on‑site coordination Safely and efficiently operate hand and power tools Follow all company health and safety guidelines and protocols, including training and reporting requirements Work outdoors in a range of weather conditions year‑round Responsible for own transportation to and from job sites Supply and maintain your own tool belt and basic hand tools Wear required PPE at all times Other duties assigned as required to support site and project needs Requirements 3‑5 years of hands‑on carpentry experience (deck or outdoor structure experience is a strong asset) Proficient with hand and power tools, and knowledgeable in secure tool use Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans Confident using imperial measuring tools with precise cuttings and layout skills Capable of lifting and handling materials up to 50 lbs Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship Self‑motivated and able to work independently while following direction Team‑oriented with excellent communication skills Safety‑conscious and reliable, with a willingness to learn and adapt If you’re ready to take your carpentry career to the next level with a supportive team that values your skills, apply now at Hickory Dickory Decks Kitchener!
