Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair building systems and equipment throughout FWHA properties.
• Perform routine checks of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and walkways.
• Handle general maintenance needs, such as replacing light bulbs and completing minor repairs.
• Diagnose issues by examining control panels, electrical wiring, and related components.
• Maintain grounds equipment, tools, and motorized maintenance machinery.
• Participate in a rotating after-hours emergency call schedule (approximately every 7 weeks).
• Apply paint, varnish, lacquer, and other protective finishes as needed.
• Carry out physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs., digging, unloading supplies, carrying materials, and installing components.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Complete work orders promptly and efficiently.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, colleagues, and contractors.
• Approach daily tasks with a proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and a team-first attitude.

Work Environment

• Work is performed across multiple FWHA properties and may take place outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• The role includes frequent interaction with residents and collaboration with vendors and contractors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least two (2) years of experience in building maintenance, construction, or a related skilled trade.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license with insurability under FWHA standards.
• Basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Ability to perform routine building maintenance and general repair tasks.
