- Assess patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing standardized assessment methods and observational techniques.
- Craft tailored treatment strategies that focus on immediate goals as well as long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing restoration needs.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to forge unified care methodologies.
- Provide educational resources to patients and families, promoting progress outside of clinical settings.
- Facilitate occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and treatments, ensuring continuous care throughout recovery.
- Keep meticulous documentation in accordance with regulatory standards at state and federal levels as well as organizational requirements.
- Engage in lifelong learning through ongoing education and networking with peers in the field.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology acquired from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) prior to ASHA certification if not already obtained.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification needed within the first month of employment.
- Deep proficiency in evidence-based interventions for all age groups, with a robust understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Outstanding communication abilities to engage with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
