Description

• Assess patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing standardized assessment methods and observational techniques.
• Craft tailored treatment strategies that focus on immediate goals as well as long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing restoration needs.
• Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to forge unified care methodologies.
• Provide educational resources to patients and families, promoting progress outside of clinical settings.
• Facilitate occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and treatments, ensuring continuous care throughout recovery.
• Keep meticulous documentation in accordance with regulatory standards at state and federal levels as well as organizational requirements.
• Engage in lifelong learning through ongoing education and networking with peers in the field.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology acquired from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) prior to ASHA certification if not already obtained.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification needed within the first month of employment.
