Therapist - Physical Therapy Assistant

Job Description

Job Summary:
Assists licensed physical therapists in delivering rehabilitative care to patients with physical functioning disorders. Provides evidence-based interventions and supports patient progress through skilled treatment services under supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Support physical therapists by implementing rehabilitation plans, including manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of assistive devices.
• Evaluate patient responses and communicate progress or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist for treatment adjustments.
• Document all patient interactions, treatments, and progress notes in compliance with regulatory and clinical standards.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding treatment plans, progress, and home-based exercises.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, care conferences, and required training sessions to ensure quality patient care.
• Support the supervision of students and support staff as directed by the Physical Therapist.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active State PTA license with current licensure verification.
• Possess at least 1 year of PTA experience in long-term care or rehabilitation settings.
• Demonstrate proficiency with clinical documentation and skills checklist within the last year.
• Require valid references, with at least one referring to recent clinical practice.
• Be able to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and support staff.
