Location: Bartow, FL, US Salary: $22.00 to $26.00 hourly Type: Full Time Manual Labor - Field Services CDL Driver/Heavy Equipment Operator This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following key responsibilities and essential functions: Respond to environmental emergencies when required at all times within a 24‑hour period. Perform technical field/office work and operate mechanical equipment such as Vac Trucks, Super Duster, forklifts, pallet jacks, lift gates, trucks, trailers and other mechanical equipment as needed. Perform clean‑up and decontamination procedures as needed. Maintain inventory lists and complete various reports and Field Dailies as required. Apply knowledge of the terminology and principles of spill responses. Understand basic proper storage, treatment and disposal of hazardous materials collected during clean‑up. Recognize potential hazards associated with hazardous wastes. Work well with the public, clients and other employees. Conduct field phone calls and communicate well with Field Supervisors. Perform limited chemical tests and work safely around a wide variety of chemicals. Understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Learn and adhere to proper safety procedures. Work in all weather and environmental conditions (e.g., sun, rain, cold, swamp, ditches, dirt). Lift and carry up to forty‑five (50) pounds of bulky equipment. Bend, stoop, sit and stand as required. Perform drum procession and sampling. Clean tanks. Participate as a Spill Crew Member. Engage in general construction tasks. Maintain vehicle and equipment. Use all levels of personal protective equipment. Keep an accurate field log book. Perform manual labor: sweep, shovel, push and pull. Work as a team member for all types. Uphold company ethics and values. Carry out other duties as necessary. Education and/or Experience High School Graduate. Minimum one (1) year of experience in environmental, construction or contractual work (preferred). CDL Class A or B license with tanker & hazmat endorsements within 90 days. Experience operating excavator, skid‑steer, bulldozer, forklift and other heavy equipment (preferred). Additional Qualifications OSHA 40‑hr HAZWOPER training preferred; will be provided if needed. Experience serving public and private sector clients, including development of technical approach, budget and schedule, monitoring project performance, client and regulatory interface, and delivery of technically superior work products. Ability to travel, including some overnight. Must possess a valid Florida CDL driver’s license. Air‑purifying respirator fit certification obtained and maintained no later than one (1) month after employment. Pre‑employment drug screen conducted in accordance with A‑C‑T’s Drug Free Workplace policy. Acceptable driving record per A‑C‑T’s Insurance & Driving policy. Sign Non‑Disclosure and Non‑Solicitation Agreement. Annual medical monitoring is required for this position. Satisfactory background check.
