Yard Driver

The Yard Jockeyoperates yard mules to move trailers and to designated loading/unloading sites as directed. Moves trailer to designated unloading doors, loading doors, and full trucks from Plant and to compound. Driver is required to have CDL because he drives on roads to compound. Responsible for keeping the Daily Trailer logs. Spots and switches trailer as directed. Pre-Cooling Trailers before Load Out and checking Trailer temperatures and Fuel Levels. Supports tank receiving by backing in and pulling out tankers as needed. Cleans, washes, fuels trailers; and inspects for damages. Services switcher tractor by checking and replenishing liquid levels and draining air tanks. Daily DVIR’s Each Day and Shift. Keep Spotter Clean. Performs other related duties as assigned. YARD DRIVER QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Class A CDL High School diploma or GED equivalent 2 years CDL/Yard driving experience Must be able to work Saturday and Sunday Successfully pass pre-employment drug test PREFERRED SKILLS FOR THE YARD DRIVER Must be organized and detail oriented. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to accurately record data.
