Certified Medical Assistant (Full Time, Day shift) Location: 10 Parsonage Road, Edison, NJ 08837 Pay Range: $22.52 - $28.78 per hour Job Overview RWJBarnabas Health, Edison Hub seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to perform routine clinical and clerical tasks under the direction of a physician or other health practitioner. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs, medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, processing prescription refills, and assisting with minor procedures. The CMA acts as a practice ambassador, contributing to overall patient experience, safety, and privacy. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED BLS Certification approved by AHA Medical Assistant Certification (NHA, NCCT, AMT, AAMA, NCMA, AMCA, AECA, or NAHP) 2 years of CMA experience Preferred: Phlebotomy and EKG skills Knowledge of EMR systems Scheduling Requirements Office Hours (8 AM - 7 PM) Includes Evening and Weekend shifts Full-time schedule Essential Functions Perform clinical tasks such as EKGs, hearing and vision screens, urinalysis, injections, vaccinations, medication administration, and minor surgeries as needed. Support practice needs with clerical tasks: answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, collecting co‑pays, preparing lab requests, and other clerical duties. Communicate with insurance providers, handle pre‑authorizations and certifications as necessary. Prepare rooms, arrange instruments and equipment, maintain a neat and sanitary environment. Room patients, verify patient information, confirm purpose of visit, obtain and record vitals, update medical history. Communicate with patients and other providers under physician guidance. Create and maintain patient health record information, files, and organize as needed. Other duties as assigned.
