Position Highlights Full-Time: Monday‑Friday 8:00‑4:30 pm PST Location: The Dalles, OR (single location) Processing medical records and answering calls from patients, insurance companies, and attorneys to provide status updates Documenting information on multiple platforms using two computer monitors Preferred customer service, data entry, and release‑of‑information experience Full benefits: PTO, health, vision, and dental insurance, 401(k) with matching contributions, and tuition reimbursement Responsibilities Receive and process requests for patient health information in accordance with company and facility policies and procedures Maintain confidentiality and security of all privileged information Maintain working knowledge of company and facility software Adhere to the company’s code of conduct and policies Inform manager of work, site difficulties, and/or fluctuating volumes Assist with additional work duties or responsibilities as needed Consistently apply medical privacy regulations to guard against unauthorized disclosure Manage patient health records and safeguard to ensure HIPAA compliance Prepare new patient charts and gather documents from paper sources and/or electronic health record Ensure medical records are assembled in standard order and are accurate and complete Create digital images of paperwork to be stored in the electronic medical record Respond to requests for patient records from internal and external sources, retrieving and transmitting them appropriately Answer inbound and outbound calls Assist with patient walk‑ins and administrative duties such as handling faxes, opening mail, and data entry Meet productivity expectations as outlined at the specific site Schedule pick‑ups as needed Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Minimum 18 years of age Ability to commute between locations as needed Willingness to work overtime during peak seasons when required Basic computer proficiency Comfortable using phones, fax machines, printers, and other general office equipment regularly Professional verbal and written communication skills in English Bonus Skills Experience in a healthcare environment Previous production/metric‑based work experience In‑person customer service experience Ability to build relationships with on‑site clients and customers Comfortable bringing new ideas, process improvement suggestions, and feedback to internal stakeholders Health & Safety Requirements To ensure the safety of patients and staff, many of our clients require post‑offer health screenings and proof of completion of various vaccinations such as the flu shot, Tdap, COVID‑19, etc. Any requests for exemption will be reviewed by Datavant Human Resources on a case‑by‑case basis and may be available on the basis of disability, medical contraindications, pregnancy, or religious grounds.
