The Role We’re looking for a self‑starter and motivated Loan Officer to join our team in Nevada, Missouri. In this role, you’ll work closely with our member owners, develop strong relationships, grow and maintain your own ag and consumer loan portfolio, and provide servicing on existing loans. This position is ideal for someone who values frontline customer interaction and enjoys supporting lending operations. Skills: Sales, negotiating tactics, marketing strategies, financial and agricultural industries, basic accounting principles. Attitude: A positive, customer‑focused approach. This position is open until filled. This position is located in Nevada, Missouri. This position is classified as Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Department: Marketplace Reports To: Vice President Team Leader, Ag & Rural Lending Supervises: None Job Functions Loan Origination/Portfolio Management (60%) Meet with current customers and prospects to gather, update, and review financial and scope of operation information to determine eligibility. Complete the Farm Credit Services (FCS) application process in order to submit to the credit department. Analyze credit for new actions and servicing actions. Verify financial documentation and closing conditions. Determine product pricing. Communicate credit decision and complete required steps for closing. Determine location for loan closing and coordinate schedules to ensure loan closing time and location meets customer needs. Service loans, including partial releases, collateral substitutions, changes in payment and maturity dates, extensions and conversions. Identify at‑risk loans and determine a plan of action to resolve deficiencies. Marketing and Sales (25%) Represent and promote FCS Financial at agricultural organization meetings and events. Attend auctions and sale barns to promote FCS services and products. Determine appropriate sales approach for potential or current customers. Determine potential business opportunities through relationship building activities including targeted sales calls and onsite visits. Review financial information for cross‑sale opportunities. Determine proper allocation of marketing budget dollars. Contact internal resources (credit, appraisal, crop insurance, customer service) to coordinate activities and ensure customer needs are met. Contact external resources (FSA, title companies, surveyors, legal counsel, appraisers, CPA’s) to coordinate activities and ensure customer needs are met. Chattel and Collateral Valuations (10%) Perform chattel (cattle, crops, machinery) and collateral valuations (real estate). Determine value using external resources such as websites, local grain market, livestock facilities, and the internal appraisal manual for real estate. Training (5%) Attend loan officer development training courses as assigned. Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization. * Essential Functions for this position consist of all items listed under any category that make up 5% or more of the job duties. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. Required Knowledge and Skills General knowledge of the sales process. General knowledge of negotiating tactics. General knowledge of marketing strategies. General knowledge of the financial services industry. General knowledge of the agricultural industry. General knowledge of basic accounting principles. Skill in negotiating agreements to achieve the best outcome for the organization. Skill in using Microsoft technologies including Outlook, Word and Excel. Skill in listening and conveying awareness of a customer’s problem or issue to find resolution. Oral and written communication skills sufficient to discuss a variety of job‑related topics, and to effectively communicate complex topics to a variety of audiences. Ability to learn and retain Association policies and procedures, and the ability to adapt to new policies and procedures quickly.
