The Maintenance & Shop Technician supports plant operations within a chemical manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for shop fabrication and assembly, equipment maintenance, facility upkeep, and safe material handling while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards and quality expectations.

The responsibilities include assembling, cleaning, testing, calibrating, and preparing sold and supplied customer equipment. The technician will build pumps, gas pumps, KB units, and related plant and customer equipment to specification. They will perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding for fabrication, weld assembly, equipment repair, and plant maintenance. The technician will fabricate, modify, and repair mechanical and structural components. They will set up and operate shop equipment including iron worker, saw, lathe, and mill. The technician will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and rework customer and plant equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. They will monitor equipment performance within assigned areas and communicate issues or repair needs to management. The technician will clean, clear, and service equipment as necessary to maintain operability, following lockout/tagout procedures. They will prepare finished equipment for shipment, including palletizing, crating, and verifying accuracy and quality standards. The technician will load and unload trucks and trailers using appropriate material handling equipment. They will operate forklifts, pallet jacks, tractors, and cranes (crane operation with managerial oversight for rigging and lifting). The technician will assist with general facility maintenance including minor plumbing, yard upkeep, and rail spur maintenance. They will support fleet vehicle maintenance with minor mechanical tasks such as battery replacement, lights, doors, and windows. The technician will assist with operation and maintenance of rental equipment as assigned. They will support chemical spill response and cleanup using appropriate equipment and procedures. The technician will maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times. They will strictly adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The technician will support team members and perform other duties as assigned.
