This position is based out of Racine Correctional Institution, located in Sturtevant, WI. Position Summary Under the general supervision of the Buildings and Grounds Superintendent, performs duties as a skilled Plumber, utilizing the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of the Plumbing Trades. Inspects, repairs, and maintains all plumbing and related mechanical operations, including heating, ventilating, ad the distribution systems in accordance with the provisions of the plumbing codes, pertinent plans, and specifications or job orders. specifications or job order Salary Information Starting hourly rate will be $54.50, $55.39, or $56.28 per hour, depending on the amount of paid leave selected. This position is in pay schedule/range is 04-00. A twelve month probationary period is required. This classification is included in the Building & Trades Bargaining unit. Substantial leave time including at least 3.5 weeks of vacation/personal time, nine paid holidays, and ample accrued sick time that rolls over each year. Qualifications Must possess, maintain, and carry a valid license issued by the State of Wisconsin, Department of Safety and Professional Services, to allow for performing plumbing installation, maintenance service and repair of institution equipment and systems as an unrestricted Master Plumber OR a Journeyman Plumber with the ability to obtain a Master Plumber license prior to the end of the twelve month probation period.
