Description: Registered Nurse for the Medical Specialty Unit/Telemetry. Shift is 3 nights per week, from 18:45 to 07:15. Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:5. First-time travelers accepted. Weekend requirement is for 8 shifts in a 6-week schedule, with a mix of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Certified in BLS and NIHSS is required. Skills required include telemetry monitoring and titrating cardiac drips. Floating between departments and units may be required as needed. Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments will be necessary as staffing demands. The facility has 240 staffed beds and 16 ICU beds. Daily census averages around 30 patients. Special procedures and patient diagnoses will include gall bladder surgery, appendectomy, hysterectomy, chest pain, nausea/vomiting, and heart failure. Interdisciplinary support is available, including therapy, phlebotomy, radiology, and pharmacy services. Experience with unit management, patient management, and various medical protocols is necessary. Candidates must have a willingness to provide comprehensive care to adult and geriatric patients.
