Torch Burner operators use industrial oxy-fuel or plasma torches to cut, melt, and dismantle large pieces of metal. This role primarily focuses on preparing oversized scrap metal for recycling and sorting heavy industrial parts. Operators follow strict safety protocols, perform daily equipment maintenance, and work standard shifts without travel requirements.
Responsibilities
- Cut and dismantle metal using oxy-fuel or plasma torches
- Operate cutting equipment safely and efficiently
- Prepare scrap metal for recycling processes
- Sort and handle heavy industrial metal parts
- Perform daily equipment maintenance and inspections
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures
- Inspect cut materials for quality and accuracy
- Handle and move materials safely within the worksite
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in metal cutting or manual labor
- Knowledge of oxy-fuel and plasma cutting techniques
- Experience in metal handling and safety compliance
- Physical stamina for demanding manual tasks
- Attention to detail and quality control
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
