Wastewater Executive Leader

Atlas Connections is partnering with a leading engineering and consulting firm to hire a Wastewater Executive Leader. This senior leadership position will guide the growth and strategic direction of the firm’s wastewater practice throughout Central Texas and the broader Texas market. The ideal candidate will bring deep municipal wastewater expertise, established client relationships, and a proven ability to grow a market, lead multidisciplinary teams, and oversee the successful delivery of complex infrastructure programs. Location: Austin, TX Responsibilities: Lead Strategy and Market Growth Develop and execute strategies to expand the firm’s wastewater treatment and utility infrastructure practice across Texas. Identify new business opportunities, expand service offerings, and strengthen the firm’s market position. Evaluate market trends and risks while helping shape long-term growth initiatives. Represent the firm through industry organizations, conferences, client engagement, and thought leadership. Strengthen Client Relationships Build and maintain relationships with municipalities, utility districts, regulatory agencies, and industry partners. Serve as a trusted advisor to clients navigating infrastructure, regulatory, operational, and growth challenges. Lead client-development activities and strategic pursuits for major projects and programs. Position the firm for long-term partnerships and recurring opportunities. Guide Technical Excellence and Project Delivery Provide executive and technical leadership for wastewater treatment and utility infrastructure projects. Guide teams in delivering innovative, high-quality solutions that meet client objectives and regulatory requirements. Support major planning, design, rehabilitation, and infrastructure improvement initiatives. Establish and maintain strong quality assurance, risk management, and project governance practices. Develop Teams and Organizational Capabilities Lead, mentor, and develop senior leaders, project managers, and multidisciplinary technical teams. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Support succession planning and leadership-development initiatives. Promote employee growth while maintaining exceptional client service and technical quality. Oversee Business Performance Monitor financial performance, profitability, resource allocation, and operational effectiveness. Support contract review, risk management, and executive-level decision-making. Ensure teams have the resources and support needed to deliver projects successfully. Maintain alignment between project execution, client expectations, and broader business objectives. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field. Active Professional Engineer license; Texas PE license or the ability to obtain one. At least 15 years of progressive experience in wastewater treatment, utility infrastructure, or related water‑environment services. At least five years of experience leading senior professionals, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams. Extensive knowledge of municipal wastewater systems, including treatment facilities, collection systems, lift stations, and supporting utility infrastructure. Experience leading complex infrastructure projects from planning and design through implementation. Demonstrated success in business development, market expansion, and strategic client relationship management. Strong financial, operational, communication, and strategic‑planning capabilities.
