Special Education School Bus Aide

Oak Hill United School Corporation currently has a bus aide position open. The individual would work each day school is in attendance and be paid an hourly rate. The hours per day vary (approximately 3-5 hours) due to continue changes in the student's schedules.
Job Description:
- Knowledge of safety procedures for a bus
- Knowledge of basic first aid procedures and methods
- Ability to maintain appropriate student behavior on a bus or other transportation equipment
- Tact and diplomacy
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions
- Other duties and jobs as assigned/directed by the bus driver and/or administration
- o Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- o Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral diagram or schedule form.
- o Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- o A working knowledge of email is preferred
- o Must be able to relate well with children
- o Must work well with bus drivers
- o Must be at least 21 years of age
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and the employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
