You’re the one who keeps the big machines moving. When motors, presses, fans, and conveyors are on the line, you’re the technician who steps in, diagnoses fast, and fixes it right.

This is heavy industrial maintenance with real stakes: rotating equipment, hydraulic presses, piping, valves, and critical systems that can’t afford downtime.

You’ll work in a safety-focused, metals environment with heat, noise, dust, and lead exposure, using your skills to keep production safe, efficient, and reliable.

What You'll Work On

You’ll be hands-on with the core mechanical systems that keep a large industrial operation running:

• Rotating equipment – motors, pumps, gearboxes, fans
• Heavy machinery – hydraulic presses and conveyors
• Piping systems and industrial valves
• Bearings, seals, couplings, belts, and chains
• Critical plant equipment requiring preventive maintenance
• Mechanical systems affected by heat, dust, and lead exposure
• Maintenance management / work order systems

You’ll lean on your mechanical aptitude, ability to read drawings and manuals, and your understanding of LOTO, PPE, and OSHA standards to keep everything running safely.

Your mission: spot the problem early, fix it right, and prevent the next breakdown.

What You'll Be Doing

• Inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing rotating equipment such as motors, pumps, gearboxes, and fans
• Maintaining and repairing heavy machinery including hydraulic presses and conveyors
• Repairing and maintaining piping and valve systems throughout the plant
• Replacing bearings, seals, couplings, belts, and chains as needed
• Performing shaft alignments to ensure smooth, reliable operation
• Carrying out preventive maintenance routines and planned inspections on critical equipment
• Identifying wear, leaks, and failure points and correcting them before they cause downtime
• Using predictive maintenance techniques to address problems before they escalate
• Recording all maintenance and repair work in the work order / maintenance management system
• Analyzing maintenance data to find root causes and recommend reliability improvements
• Participating in continuous improvement and helping update maintenance procedures and schedules
• Coordinating with supervisors, operators, and team members to minimize impact on production while working independently under the Maintenance Supervisor

What We're Looking For

• 3–5 years of hands-on industrial maintenance or mechanical repair in heavy industry or manufacturing
• High school diploma or GED; vocational training in industrial maintenance is a plus
• Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to read drawings and equipment manuals
• Solid understanding of lockout/tagout, machine guarding, and hazardous materials handling
• Able to climb, work at heights and in confined spaces, lift 50+ lbs, and wear a respirator
• Able to work 12-hour shifts 
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills; reliable and self-motivated
• Basic computer skills for using maintenance and work order systems
• Welding, machining, or OSHA safety training is an advantage (not required)
