Periodontal Faculty PositionDirectly reporting to the Director of Periodontics, with a dotted line to the Director of Clinical Education, and the Executive Assistant Dean of Clinical Affairs, periodontal faculty are responsible for direct patient care and mentoring/teaching students within Touro College of Dental Medicine's clinic.ResponsibilitiesInitiate and guide student doctor/patient interactionPerform dental procedures on patients of the clinic as neededModel and advise students on professionalism and patient management techniquesAssist in solving patient related problemsAssist the Director of Periodontics in the review of each student's performance within the pediatric dentistry clinicAssuring accuracy of student clinical notes, approving student procedural code, and evaluating/assessing student in the areas of Preparedness, Professionalism, & PromptnessMonitoring for unapproved notes of treatments on a daily, weekly, and monthly basisReport instances of misconduct to the Director of PeriodonticsMaintaining calibration as determined by the Director of Clinical Education as well as: Ensuring all clinical protocols are being followed in their clinical areasInfection Control ComplianceComplete reviews of student activity upon requestAid in supervision of Clinical Formative and Summative Examination ProcessAttend periodic meetings with the Director of Periodontics and attend clinical faculty meetings, including Faculty ForumMembership, if appointed, on relevant Clinical CommitteesQualificationsEducation/ExperienceD.D.S./DMD from a CODA-accredited dental school or equivalent.Certificate of training and educationally qualified from an ADA-accredited specialty program.Dental License Registration; must be eligible for licensure in the state of New York.Previous teaching experience.Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesA track record of scholarly activity and outstanding patient care, as well as demonstration of or likely commitment to diversity-related teaching/research/service.Engagement and familiarity in curriculum development and digital dentistry technology and experience in faculty calibration.A high degree of interpersonal competency: Professionalism, diplomacy, judgement and discretion required.Demonstrated ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty and colleagues.Ability to organize tasks.Certifications/LicensuresDEA number.Board Eligible or Certified.Maximum SalaryUSD $192,891.00/Yr.Minimum SalaryUSD $154,312.00/Yr.
