Busser Job Description

Bussers are responsible for assisting the service team in exceeding the guest's expectations. Assists with barista duties as directed. Teamwork, organization, and good awareness are necessary for success in this position.

Essential functions include cleaning and resetting tables and transporting dirty dishes to bus tub, tray, or dish room; being available to work a variety of hours, days, and shifts, including weekends; effectively servicing a minimum of an eight-table section; safely and effectively moving chairs, tables, highchairs, and booster seats; cleaning and resetting tables and transporting dirty dishes to bus-tub, tray, or dish room; safely and effectively using and operating all necessary tools and equipment; effectively communicating in order to perform and follow job requirements in written and spoken direction; multitasking calmly and effectively in a busy, stressful environment; working in a confined, crowded space of variable noise and temperature levels; moving and lifting up to 10 pounds, frequently moving and/or lifting up to 25 pounds, and occasionally moving and/or lifting up to 50 pounds; and standing and walking for an entire shift and moving safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven or slick surfaces.

Key responsibilities and duties include ensuring the overall guest experience exceeds expectations and anticipating guests' needs; greeting guests with a warm, sincere smile; using tact and good judgment when dealing with guest challenges and responding to guest needs with patience and courtesy; assisting the service team with all food and beverage service; following all steps of service; understanding and following the food allergy procedure and special orders/restrictions; complying with all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures; following all rules, policies, procedures, and conditions of employment, including those outlined in the Employee Handbook; getting along well with others and being a team player; and other duties will be assigned as needed.
