Role: Insurance Defense Partner
Insurance Defense | General Liability | Auto and Trucking | Premises | Bodily Injury
A fast-growing national insurance defense firm is adding a partner-level attorney to its Texas practice. The role can be fully work from home or hybrid from the firm’s Houston office, whichever you prefer. The role would focus on bodily injury defense and trucking cases in the Houston area. No book of business is required but the firm does pay well for originated business.

What You Will Do
- Independently manage an active litigation docket
- Draft and argue motions, including summary judgment and discovery motions
- Take depositions of parties, witnesses and experts
- Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations and trials
- Prepare clients, adjusters, witnesses and experts for testimony
- Evaluate claims, assess exposure and communicate strategy to carriers and clients
What We Are Looking For
- 9+ years of civil litigation or insurance defense experience
- JD from an accredited law school
- Active Texas bar license in good standing
- Strong command of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure
- Exceptional writing, research and analytical skills
- Proven ability to run a docket with minimal supervision
- Professional communication with clients, adjusters and opposing counsel
- Trial experience a plus
