You’ll work on actual client projects, where your contributions will directly impact both Shive-Hattery and the community. This experience will help expand your professional skill set and strengthen your portfolio, setting you up for future success.

As an intern, you will be paired with a mid-to-senior level employee who will serve as your mentor. This mentor/mentee relationship is designed to foster a supportive environment where you can candidly discuss your career goals and aspirations. Our one-on-one informal mentoring approach fosters the development of professional relationships that complement your academic learning, enriching your overall internship experience.

As an Industrial Architecture intern you will work on a variety of project types including Manufacturing, Food Processing, and Industrial Site Development. These experiences will provide insights into the profession, collaborative teamwork, and serving the needs of our clients.

This position is primarily performed in an office or hybrid environment and may require travel to project sites, other Shive-Hattery office locations or to meet with clients. A full clean driver’s license is required. The role involves sitting, standing, and working at a computer for extended periods. May also require lifting light to medium weight objects of up to 50 lbs., the wearing of PPE and navigating active construction sites .
