Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with 2+ years of current OR experience and a TN or compact RN license for a day shift assignment with call and holiday rotation requirements.

Job Details

• Operating Room unit within a hospital setting,
• Work settings include General OR, Orthopedic, and Total Joint Replacement,
• Circulating role for total joint procedures,
• Skills utilized may include neurology, spine, endoscopic, robotic, and urology procedures such as craniotomy, laminectomy, ALIF, XLIF, colonoscopy, EGD, robotic-assisted surgeries, and cystoscopy,
• Uses Cerner EMR and Omnicell medication system,
• Day shift schedule Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM,
• Call requirements include 4-6 weeknights and one 24-hour weekend shift approximately every 6 weeks,
• Holiday rotation required,
• Floating required in accordance with facility floating policies and clinical experience,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or Compact) required, must be in hand at time of consideration,
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS,
• Minimum 2 years of current Operating Room experience required,
• Certifications and licensure must not expire within 45 days of the start date,
• Must be able to pass EKG testing prior to start date,
• Cerner charting experience preferred but not required,

Additional Information

• Perform circulating duties for total joint and other surgical procedures within the OR,
• Floating is conducted in accordance with facility policy and includes appropriate orientation to new units per Joint Commission standards,
• RTO requests cannot be made at time of booking and must be discussed with the manager after starting the assignment,
• RTO cannot occur within 14 days of the start date and cannot exceed 7 days total,
• No RTO permitted during major holidays, holiday weekends, or surrounding days,
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate within 75 miles of the facility,
• Candidates residing more than 75 miles from the facility are eligible for the traveler rate,
• Former permanent staff cannot return to the same campus within 24 months, but may return to a different Covenant Health campus after 12 months,
• Related or married travel team members cannot be assigned to the same unit,
• Non-billable training modules are completed during orientation and annually, with hours varying by department
