Category Manager, Electronics Opportunity This role is part of Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) Medical Device Division, based in Plymouth, MN or St. Paul, MN. We’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives. We’re seeking a dynamic and strategic procurement professional to lead Electronics Category Management and will be responsible for developing and executing global sourcing strategies, driving value by reducing total cost, mitigating supply risks, improving quality and leading continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Supplier identification and qualification Competitive bidding Total cost analysis Market intelligence Supplier consolidation Supplier relationship management Contract compliance and performance tracking Lead sourcing and supplier selection processes, negotiate contracts Analyze total cost of ownership (TCO) and drive cost‑saving initiatives Conduct market analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities Identify and mitigate supply chain risks (geopolitical, financial, operational) Develop contingency and dual sourcing strategies for critical components Implement supplier scorecards and lead business reviews Ensure supplier compliance with regulatory, environmental, and ethical standards Support sustainability and responsible sourcing initiatives What You’ll Work On Build and manage relationships with stakeholders (R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, and corporate procurement) and suppliers Involve in large and/or complex purchases with high impact on products, processes, and budget Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred) 6‑10 years of procurement and/or deep category management experience 3 years in regulated industry Strong contract negotiation experience Ability to work independently and within cross‑functional teams Strong organizational, follow‑up, and attention‑to‑detail skills Ability to travel approximately 20%, including international Preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Professional procurement certifications (CPSM, CPM, or similar) What We Offer Fast‑paced work environment with safety priority Production areas that are clean, well‑lit, and temperature‑controlled Training and career development programs Competitive compensation, incentives, and retirement plans Health care and well‑being programs (medical, dental, vision, wellness, occupational health) Paid time off 401(k) retirement savings with a generous company match Stability of a company with strong financial performance and community involvement Base pay for this position is $99,300.00 – $198,700.00.
