Worship Leader

Position: Part-Time Praise & Worship Leader – 8:00 am Contemporary Service Purpose: The Praise and Worship Leader serves to lead the congregation in authentic, Christ-centered worship through contemporary music. This role supports the spiritual mission of the church by planning, preparing, and leading worship for designated services, cultivating an environment where people are drawn into the presence of God. The Praise & Worship Leader works closely with the Senior Pastor and other ministry and music leaders, to ensure worship aligns with the church’s vision, theology, and values. Responsibilities The worship leader will work closely with the senior pastor in cultivating worship services and worship teams that help lead our congregation to see and appreciate the greatness of God, in Jesus Christ, and in the power of the Holy Spirit Plan weekly Sunday worship service (8:00 am service) choosing music that engages the congregation and supports the reading and preaching of God’s Word Lead heartfelt worship in an invitational style that draws people in, encourages participation, and points people to Jesus When necessary, recruit, audition, and train musicians to serve the congregation as a team. When necessary, collaborate with the other music leaders for special events, such as Easter, Christmas, Yearly Picnic, and other events where musicians are needed Serve as a staff member, demonstrating a commitment to God, this church, and its mission Lead weekly rehearsals in preparation for Sunday. Provide music worship related presentation materials and work with the Audio/Video/Production team and church administrator Provide musicians and singers with lyrics, chord charts, links and set lists, as needed Develop a schedule of musicians and vocalists and create opportunities for new talent Maintain and grow our song library Qualifications A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a growing personal relationship with Him A calling to serve in this kind of ministry role and ability to articulate that calling to others Musical proficiency in voice, playing piano, guitar, or other musical instruments Experience as a leader and recruiter of volunteers in all areas of worship ministry, nurturing talent in multiple age groups Experience in leading worship of contemporary, as well as modern and traditional genres Reports To Senior Pastor Position Status Part-time; 12-15 hours per week Remit Resume to View email address on click.appcast.io #J-18808-Ljbffr
