Production Planner

Position Description: Organizes, coordinates and schedules efficient, cost effective and timely production of manufactured products. Supports business unit through maintenance and analysis of cost data to ascertain variances and prepare reports.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manages the Production Control database administration and monitoring of production reporting to ensure accuracy
• Schedules manufactured finished goods and special orders
• Assists with design, development and maintenance of programs for information sharing between manufacturing, engineering, purchasing and sales
• Participates in the continual development of methods for improving scheduling procedures, increasing productivity and realizing cost reduction opportunities
• Classifies labor, material and overhead costs to compute the unit cost of product or service
• Records cost data for use by management in controlling expenditures
• Conducts and analyzes audits of costs and prepares reports; compiles cost data for preparation of operating budgets
• Analyzes actual costs vs. standard costs and prepares reports of variances
• Prepares estimates of new or proposed product costs
• Performs other duties as assigned

Job Skills Requirements:

• Comprehensive experience with financial analysis, cost accounting and auditing
• Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and MRP software (SAP)
• Strong interpersonal communication skills to interact with multiple departments throughout the organization (Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Sales)
• Solid organizational skills and the ability to exercise judgment while handling multiple priorities
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent education and experience

Experience Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years related experience
