Library Clerk - Part-Time - Albert George Branch Library - Needville

Job Overview Fort Bend County Library is seeking a part‑time Library Support Specialist to assist with patron services, circulation, and collection management. The role requires flexible evening and weekend hours and is part of the county’s library system. Responsibilities Respond to patron inquiries by phone and in person. Check out, check in, and charge library materials using the automated system. Shelve and maintain order of library materials. Receive, sort, and process delivery items and prepare items for the hold shelf. Reroute circulation materials to other branches. Register new patrons and issue library cards. Collect fines and fees. Attend staff meetings, staff development days, committee meetings, and training sessions. Perform additional duties as assigned. Optionally order supplies, process periodicals, mend and clean books or AV items, order and receive library materials/check invoices, update holdings, process mail, and perform database maintenance. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Strong computer and typing skills. Good communication skills and the ability to interact easily with staff and the public. Ability to understand and carry out instructions. Availability for evening and weekend hours. Salary & Hours Part‑time: $15.30 per hour, 24 hours per week. Physical Demands Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, talk, listen, lift materials up to 25 lbs. on a daily basis; occasional sitting. Requires good vision, color discrimination, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus.
