Senior Superintendent

The Senior Superintendent will lead field operations for complex healthcare construction projects, ensuring exceptional execution from preconstruction through closeout. This role is ideal for a seasoned construction leader with extensive healthcare experience, a strong commitment to safety and quality, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams in active hospital and clinical environments. Key Responsibilities Provide overall leadership and management of all on-site construction activities for healthcare projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements. Develop, maintain, and drive master project schedules, proactively identifying and mitigating potential delays to meet critical milestones and owner expectations. Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure efficient workflow, accountability, and adherence to project objectives. Lead pull-planning sessions, daily huddles, and weekly coordination meetings to maintain alignment among project stakeholders. Ensure strict compliance with healthcare regulations, infection control risk assessments (ICRA), interim life safety measures (ILSM), and facility-specific operational requirements in occupied environments. Collaborate closely with project management teams during preconstruction, logistics planning, procurement, and constructability reviews. Monitor quality control efforts and oversee inspections to ensure work meets design intent, code requirements, and the highest standards of craftsmanship. Enforce and champion company safety programs, fostering a culture of safety excellence throughout the jobsite. Maintain accurate field documentation, including daily reports, look-ahead schedules, RFIs, punch lists, and progress updates. Serve as the primary field representative to owners, healthcare facility staff, architects, consultants, and inspectors, maintaining strong relationships through proactive communication. Support project closeout activities, including commissioning, training, turnover documentation, and occupancy planning. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent field experience will be considered. 10+ years of progressive construction experience , including substantial experience as a Superintendent leading large, complex healthcare projects. Proven track record delivering acute care hospitals, surgical suites, medical office buildings, laboratories, or other healthcare facilities within occupied and highly regulated environments. Thorough understanding of healthcare construction requirements, including ICRA protocols, phased renovations, and infection prevention procedures. Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making abilities with the capacity to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and maintain effective working relationships at all levels. Proficiency with construction technology and scheduling tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, and Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
