Claims Analyst

Position Overview The APeX Application Analyst will develop, support, and maintain Epic’s Claims and related 3rd‑Party Applications across UCSF and community affiliate locations. Key Responsibilities Develop, configure, build, install, and test Epic Claims and related 3rd‑party applications. Analyze workflow and process constraints to define system requirements and document operational specifications. Coordinate and resolve issues that arise during system implementation or upgrades. Prepare databases, tables, and system configuration during initial deployment. Conduct unit, integration, and conversion data validation testing. Develop internal procedures and change‑control processes for application maintenance. Plan, implement, and support clinical software, hardware, operating systems, and distributed clinical information systems of moderate complexity. Analyze patient‑care workflows and design IT solutions to improve integration and functionality. Collaborate with clinical users to adjust workflows for new releases and system upgrades. Coordinate with vendors and IT leadership on system enhancements. Deliver user training, develop training materials, and document procedures. Identify, troubleshoot, and propose solutions for moderate‑complexity issues. Assume a leadership role for new projects and act as the primary contact for complex issues. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in health‑care information technology, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 3–5 years of experience in clinical application support or development. Epic Resolute Professional Billing Administration certification (must be achieved within 6 months of hire). Broad or in‑depth knowledge of one or two specialty areas of clinical applications. Proficiency with Epic Claims build and 3rd‑party claims‑submission/remittance systems. Strong problem‑resolution, analytical, and documentation skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and training abilities. Detail‑oriented, organized, and self‑motivated to manage multiple projects. Preferred Qualifications Epic Resolute Professional Billing Claims Administration certification. Epic Resolute Professional Billing Electronic Remittance certification.
