Job Description
Job Opportunity Position Overview This full-time position is offered in a hospital, clinic, or long-term care facility. The primary responsibility of the role is to direct an activity program that addresses the social, recreational, physical, educational, and spiritual needs of patients or residents through meaningful activities. These programs are designed to help individuals maintain their dignity and maximize their mental and physical capabilities for as long as possible, enhancing feelings of usefulness, self-confidence, self-respect, and empowerment. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and direct a comprehensive activity program for patients/residents.
- Conduct assessments to tailor programs to individual needs.
- Oversee program development and performance improvement initiatives.
- Prepare and monitor budgets associated with activity programs.
- Manage personnel and lead training programs for staff.
- Work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience as an Activities Coordinator.
- Experience in planning, assessing, and coordinating activity programs in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of human anatomy and applicable administrative practices for directing patient activity programs.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively in English.
- Experience in supervising staff and planning training initiatives.
- Must possess a valid Driver's License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Workers.
