Job Summary


Our client is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant responsible for supporting medical staff and ensuring the efficient operation of the healthcare facility. The primary focus will include patient care, documentation, and various administrative duties to enhance the delivery of quality health services.


Key Responsibilities

• Measures and records vital signs (weight, height, blood pressure, etc.).
• Ensures accurate and timely documentation into the EMR, including patient interviews, histories, vital signs, treatments, and test results.
• Assists medical staff with patient examinations.
• Maintains supplies, equipment, and sterilizes instruments necessary for registrations.
• Maintains confidentiality of all patient information and complies with state and federal regulations.
• Participates in professional development activities and maintains affiliations with medical assistant associations.
• Commits to concepts of preventative health care programs and a team-based approach to health care delivery.
• Performs front office duties, including reception, patient check-in/check-out, payment collection, and scheduling.
• Draws patient blood samples and prepares samples for laboratory analysis.
• Prepares and administers ordered injectable medications and immunizations.
• Changes dressings, applies bandages, removes sutures, and performs other first aid procedures.
• Assists patients with scheduling of internal/external referrals.

Qualifications

• MA experience in settings such as family practice, internal medicine, urgent care, or walk-in clinics.
• Ability to perform independent blood draws comfortably.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or ProCPR.
• Preferred: MA diploma/certification.
