Job Overview Area Sales Manager – the role is based in the Central U.S. and covers Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Kentucky. Candidates must reside in one of these states. Key Responsibilities Meet or exceed annual sales goals, manage distribution territory, and deliver an overall positive customer experience. Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, revenue opportunities, sales channels, outcomes‑based solutions, and competitor offerings. Create a multi‑year growth strategy and account pipeline in collaboration with distribution leadership, and manage plan execution. Maintain annual touchpoints with existing customers and revenue opportunities to expand business. Drive direct and distributor sales opportunities. Maintain assigned customer relationships. Provide portfolio support using product, software, and service knowledge. Manage channel coordination and distributor performance reviews. Qualify pre‑sales opportunities and position portfolio with value selling and outcomes‑based solutions. Maintain CRM with frequent account updates. Coordinate conflict resolution and participate in contract negotiations. Represent the company at industry events and trade shows. Maintain strong communication and working relationships with channel partners and other departments. Recommend portfolio development, placement, and promotions as appropriate. Support and adhere to the company’s core values, Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy. Represent the company in a positive, professional manner. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Solid understanding of electric, gas, and water utilities, meter, IoT, communications, and AMI Smart Grid technologies. Ability to organize, coordinate, and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously. Strong listening, oral/written communication, and presentation skills. Solid analytical and technical abilities. Strong knowledge of the company’s products, software, and services. Solid knowledge of channel development strategies. Thorough understanding of sales functions. Ability to recognize opportunities and potential issues and take proactive measures. Computer skills including Microsoft Office. Ability to work independently and on a team. Accountabilities Meet or exceed sales goals and manage distribution territory. Maintain industry knowledge and support identification of business development opportunities. Execute growth strategy and account pipeline with distribution leadership. Maintain annual touchpoints with existing customers. Project the company’s professional reputation in all sales contracts. Inform management of significant problems, area activities, and competitive conditions. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree. 5–7+ years of sales experience in the electrical industry. Valid driver’s license and passport for domestic and international travel. Compensation & Benefits Pay range: $85,490 – $121,393 per year, plus eligibility for a 401(k) match and consideration for an annual bonus. The base salary will depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, and certifications. All candidates are encouraged to apply.
