Rescue Tech II

Total Safety is looking for a Rescue Technician II to join their safety conscious team. The role provides technical rescue standby for customer projects including confined space and technical rope rescue, and first aid and CPR. The Technician assists in assessing risks, readying rescue equipment, and planning practical and effective solutions towards safe working practices in compliance with client standards. Responsibilities: Assists in assessing risks and preparing confined space rescue preplans and rescue safety analyses. Identifies and communicates hazards, determines controls and emergency contingency plans, and ensures required safety equipment and PPE are available and in good condition. May conduct general air quality monitoring and recommend hazard control or protective equipment. Conducts daily job briefings with customers and workers. Performs on‑going monitoring of job conditions and equipment resources, reports observations and recommendations to supervisor, and completes daily Incident Command System (ICS) reports. In case of accident, locates the patient, assesses injuries, packages for extrication, removes the patient from threat, turns over to EMS, and renders first aid and CPR at the level of training. Follows handling, inspection, cleaning and preventive maintenance guidelines for all rescue equipment to maintain readiness. Maintains accurate records of all rescue related equipment inventory. Assists with special projects as assigned. Skills and Experience 40‑hour Rescue Technician record (minimum 6 months experience) Confined Space Entrant/Attendant Certification Healthcare Provider CPR First Aid with AED First Responder or better preferred Hazwoper certification 4‑gas monitor operation training Familiarity with OSHA atmosphere limitations Proven proficiency in rescue operations Combination of office and field / production environments. Some exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions. Travel to and from customer sites. Educational Requirements High School diploma or GED.
