Construction Assistant

Construction Department Opportunity

Spring Meadow Nursery, Inc. is growing and looking to bring on additional help within our Construction department.

We're looking for hard working individuals to perform general construction duties at our greenhouse facility. Positions are available for immediate hire for the right individuals that are interested in growing with our company. We have opportunities for work in greenhouse projects as well as commercial and residential construction. We are looking for individuals that can work as a member of our team to complete each project on time and to company standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Sustain safe and healthy work environment(s).
• Demonstrate adequate communication and proper reporting.
• Collaborate with construction teams to ensure time sensitive and integral project completion.
• Ensure facilities and critical structures are operational and in good working condition.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance measures.
• Partner with Leadership to promote and drive continued positive culture.
• Assist with jobsite set-up and clean-up activities.
• Learn, follow, and promote all organizational standards and regulations.
• Workers may assist in handling product weighing up to 50 pounds and lifting to a height of 5 feet.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• Valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 6-month experience in a construction related industry.
• Basic hand and power tool experience.
• General understanding of carpentry, plumbing, earthworks, and pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• OSHA 10-hour preferred.
• Be a motivated self-starter.

• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills along with organization traits.
• Effectively manage time addressing a variety of project needs.
• Execution-focused with the ability to take individual responsibility for delivering quality work.
• Sustain interpersonal relationships with internal and external project teams.
• Ability to quickly analyze, interpret, and compare detailed information.
• Ability to work independently and on a team.

Performance Requirements

• Must maintain a level of performance equivalent to company standards, that being a "Meets Expectations" in all areas of your performance evaluations (including but not limited to, Self and Management reviews).

Job Type: Full time, hourly, exempt.

Pay: starting at $18.50, dependent upon experience. Amount is not inclusive of total compensation package.
