Senior Accountant

Our Bethesda-based client is looking for a motivated and growth-oriented Senior Accountant ready to take the next step in their career. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team, play a key role in managing financial processes, and contribute to impactful projects across the Finance department. RESPONSIBILITIES Record and post journal entries accurately and efficiently Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly Prepare and review monthly financial statements and reports Manage month-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met Maintain internal controls and adherence to accounting policies Prepare account reconciliations, accruals, and prepaid schedules Analyze financial results and provide clear variance explanations Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and validate financial data Support audits by preparing schedules and responding to inquiries Participate in special projects, system upgrades, and process initiatives QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA preferred or actively pursuing General ledger accounting experience, including month-end close Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting Proficient in Excel and accounting software; Workday Finance a plus Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy Effective communicator and team player Able to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new responsibilities Must be able to work in the office 5 days a week #J-18808-Ljbffr
