Radiologic Technologist – Full Time (80 hours per week) Location: BLH Bronson Lakeview Hospital Job Summary Perform radiographic examinations of various anatomical parts and systems to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical disorders. Provide direct patient care with a focus on competence, safety, and compassion. Key Responsibilities Perform routine and advanced diagnostic radiology examinations, including fluoroscopy, joint injections, and lumbar/myelogram exams. Escort patients into the examination area, review pertinent patient information, and instruct them regarding the procedure. Position patients, set up and adjust supportive devices, and apply radiation protective shielding. Operate a variety of diagnostic radiographic equipment to achieve optimal image quality in accordance with physician orders. Consult with the radiologist to clarify orders or discuss unusual situations. Operate all equipment safely; immediately report malfunctions or required adjustments. Assist providers with the administration of radiolucent or radiopaque media and provide first aid in emergencies. Practice sterile technique and maintain cleanliness of procedure rooms and equipment. Accurately document patient and file information; maintain appropriate supply levels. Provide on‑the‑job training for student technologists and non‑professional assistants as required. Qualifications Certificate of completion from a hospital-based program or an associate’s degree from an accredited school of radiology technology. Registered ARRT required; registry‑eligible technologists must receive registration within 6 months of hire. Successfully complete BLS training within 6 months of hire. Proficiency in basic computer programs for record keeping. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to manage difficult or sensitive situations. Demonstrated leadership, organization, and initiative within established procedures. Positive attitude and ability to work independently. Physical Demands Consistent standing, walking, and lifting of light‑weight objects (up to 20 pounds) and occasional assistance with heavier patient‑moving tasks (up to 50 pounds). High levels of mental/visual fatigue and sustained concentration for extended periods. Percentage of time spent operating and monitoring a personal computer or CRT around 40–70 %.
