We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrician to join our team - you will be working to support two plants located in Stony Creek, VA which is south of Petersburg, VA off of I-95. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical systems, including both high and low voltage applications. This position involves working on various projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and delivering high-quality electrical installations and repairs. The Electrician will play a crucial role in building and maintaining electrical plant production systems that meet industry standards. Valid Driver's License required with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in industrial settings.
• Read and interpret blueprints to determine the layout of electrical systems.
• Utilize hand tools and testing equipment such as voltmeters and ohmmeters to troubleshoot electrical issues.
• Work with logic controllers to ensure proper operation of automated systems.
• Conduct inspections of electrical installations to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment to minimize downtime.
• Document all work performed and maintain accurate records of repairs and installations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an industrial electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems.
• Proficiency in using testing equipment such as voltmeters and ohmmeters.
• Familiarity with high voltage and low voltage applications.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams accurately.
• Strong knowledge of safety protocols related to electrical work.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Relevant certifications or licenses as required by local regulations.

Job type

• Full-time
• 7AM-3:30PM Mon-Fri with overtime and weekends as needed
• Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
• The on call can vary due to personnel but the goal is to be on call approximately 1 week out of every 5/6 weeks.
