Transit Ambassador

Transit Ambassador (Part-Time) – Summer Season 2026 The City of Laguna Beach is seeking a motivated individual to assist passengers on the trolley, provide information about the city, events, and activities, and offer parking lot assistance during the summer season. The position reports to the Transit Supervisor. Schedule Employees must be available weekdays and weekends from late June to early September 2026 and will work late evenings until midnight. Responsibilities Assist passengers getting on and off the trolley. Provide information about the City of Laguna Beach, its events, activities, festivals, local interests, restaurants, shops, trolley routes and schedules. Offer parking lot assistance with pay stations and keep parking lots clean. Safely lift and carry equipment required for daily operations. Maintain courteous and helpful customer service techniques. Communicate effectively and collaborate with staff and the general public. Practice safe work behaviors. Qualifications At least 16 years of age (minimum requirement); applicants under 18 must have a valid work permit. Prior public contact work experience is desirable. Ability to obtain a Social Security card, picture ID, and valid work permit (if under 18) prior to hire. Benefits Hourly pay ranges consist of either five, seven, or eight steps. Compensation at time and a half for overtime hours exceeding forty per week. Eligible employees enroll in the Public Agency Retirement System (PARS) with a 3.75% employee contribution matched by the City. Forty hours of sick leave annually, granted each July.
